Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 3/4 cup milk

Method

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Take your time here and make sure everything is evenly distributed. I like to use a large bowl so there's plenty of room to work. Always taste as you go — you can add more seasoning, but you can't take it away!
  2. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Add milk and stir gently.
  4. Roll out and cut biscuits.
  5. Bake at 425°F for 12–15 minutes. Every oven is a little different, so start checking a few minutes early. You're looking for a golden color and a wonderful aroma filling your kitchen.
